He seemed pretty positive about setting a meeting. My questions to you guys is: What should I address during the meeting? Should I ask him for a letter of rec? Is it possible for me to get credit for those seven month? My medical school program director said that she 2008 planning budgeting vacancies offer me a second year spot if I have credit for those month? Is it ok to ask the program director if I can get credit for those month or should I just keep it simple and just ask for his support as I reapply for residency. I 2008 planning budgeting vacancies have two letters of recommendation from my attendings their. Getting a letter from your prior PD would be VERY 2008 planning budgeting vacancies Regardless of how you spin this to other PDs, we are going to worry that were only hearing 1/2 of the story the half you want to tell. Getting credit for your prior rotations would also be helpful. Not sure how another PD can give you a PGY-2 spot, since in the best case youll have only 7 months of PGY-1 credit, but having said credit can only help. If you do match for a PGY-1 spot in July, you should be prepared to repeat the whole year. However, there is some chance that while you are interviewing a program will have an open off cycle PGY-1 spot, and then the 7 months of prior credit could be very helpful. i agree with kave dweller. i think you 2008 planning budgeting vacancies be able to get the credit. but more important is good letter from that pd in my opinion. everyones gonna wanna know what happend last if pd writes a good letter. thats a huge plus i think. Thank you so much for all the advice. I have met with my PD and he said that I will get 7 month of credit for the time I spent their. He said that if I find an offcycle spot that is willing to 2008 planning budgeting vacancies me than he will personally call the program director tell them about my situation and officially transfer all my evals and procedure logs for me to get credit. He also said that he will right a letter explaininng my situation. Thank you so much for all the advice. My National colleague Theresa Poulson shot video of my interviews with Karen Ignagni, CEO of Americas Health Insurance Plans, Dan Danner, head of the National Federation of Independent Business and Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA. These short videos give viewers a little more of the personal side of Ignagni, Danner, and Pollack than I was able to provide in my story in this weeks issue which looked at the battle lines that might be drawn on the coming health care debate in Congress. the key is to be trategic in your plan to save time. regarding in person requests, remember that youre mostly dealing with program coodinators when inquiring for residency vacancies at first, so in reality i dont know whether they would prefer a meeting vs. email vs. a phone call to give you that information. i personally would prefer to be effecient and find out the quickest way possible if a vacancy exists or not. hi guys, im new here i just wanted to get some addvice on my situation. i applied for this years match and went unmatched. i m interested in IM/FM i have a externship in radiology in june at a university my question to you guys is: will this improve my chances in IM/FM residency for nxt yr? what else can i do to improve my chances? do people with a single attempt get into a residency? my scores are not that great! its had to stay optimistic please advice. Also in what mnths shd i call/email the programs and see for any unexpected openings? I am already registered on findaresident. I also emailed the programs and all said that they are full. anyone have a residentswap account and want to help me out by telling me what would be available for me?? its too early in the game for me to register I am a military physician. I completed my PGY-1 year in 2007 and realized all too late that I should have applied for anesthesia programs this past match for the 2011 CA-1 start. I have been trying to get my LOR, deans letters, etc together to my school to use the remaining ERAS time until 31 May to do exactly what you have mentioned. Do you think at this late in the game this is something I should do or should I wait until July and try at that time? Again I join other fellow members to thank you for this great post. I have a special case that fit more into 2 but with a little twist. Im completing my PGY-1 now and already got my contract for PGY-2 singed and turned it in. My program is so malignant that 1 or 2 residents are let go every year and I feel this could happen to anyone in the program especially those without any cover like me. So my dilemma do I go about looking for a PGY-2 somewhere else without exposing it to my program? You mentioned PD LOR/good standing letter which is definitely a NO GO for me as it may lead to my program taking preemptive action and canceling my contract. How likely is it to find a spot without having the new program contact your current PD while evaluating candidates? Thanks in advance for you advices. What happened was I got off on the wrong track with some of my senior residents and two of them stated under the ethical section that I have said that I have done certain things when I havent such as ordering I might have unintentionally a couple of times but nothing that has lead to any serious comprmise to patient care or anything of the like. So I was taken to a departmental meeting where the chair of the department has made the decession to release me from the program even after I presented my case. During this whole time I had a great reltionship with the PD. After, they made that decission I left and started an MPH program for the past year. Now I will be re-applying for residency again this year. I havent talked to the PD since the department chair made that decisson. I recently have scheduled an appointment to go back and talk with the PD to ask for his support as I am going to reapply for residency.

Affordable housing vacancy rate

The actors, Louise Clark and Harry Johnson, appeared on Capitol Hill today with Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Affordable housing vacancy rate today to cheerlead for the healthcare overhaul the Affordable housing vacancy rate approved Affordable housing vacancy rate week. Also appearing at the event were former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, ; John Podesta, a former Clinton administration official and president of the Center for American Progress; AFL-CIO President John Sweeney ; and Families USA President Ron Pollack, among others. All represent progressive groups that strongly back the HELP Committees 611 billion overhaul, which would provide for a public plan option. This bill does not tinker around the edges, said Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa. This is a paradigm shift. This is the second time in the past year that Harry and Louise have come out for health care reform. Back in August 2008, the two appeared in a series of television ads paid for by American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the American Hospital Association, the Catholic Health Association, Families USA, and the National Federation of Independent Business. The ads were timed to run during the Democratic and Republican national conventions last year. House Democrats this afternoon unveiled a 1, 018-page healthcare overhaul bill, with Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel, D-NY, announcing that his committee will begin marking up its portion on Thursday morning, CongressDailyPM reports. subscription As the bill was being unveiled, 31 business groups including the Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the National Association of Manufacturers, wrote a joint letter to House members raising points of opposition to the legislation. Many of the groups who signed onto the letter have been publicly quiet, until now, on the healthcare reform debate. They include the International Dairy Foods Association and the National Association of Home Builders. We felt it was important to draw the line with the letter, said James Gelfand, senior manager of health policy at the Chamber. Two of the key points in the letter are opposition to a mandate requiring employers to provide health care coverage and opposition to the creation of a public plan option. We believe that some of the approaches under considering in the House legislation would not improve the system, but in fact would jeopardize the parts of the system that currently work, the letter says. The question now is how aggressive will these groups be in expressing their opposition? Will they run Harry and Louise type ads, like those that were funded by the health insurance industry 15 years ago, that many believe turned public opinion against President Clinton s health care reform efforts? Gelfand says no, for now. He expects business groups to keep their powder dry until they see what the Senate Finance Committee produces. That committees chairman, Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont. has been working closely with ranking chair Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, to produce a bipartisan bill that would likely address many of the concerns business groups are raising. That legislation is expected to be unveiled later this week, though the deadline has shifted in prior weeks and could shift again. The conservative think tank Americans for Prosperity announced it is plunging an additional 3 million into television advertising advocating less government involvement in health care policy. The ads will be run through the think tanks Patients First campaign and targets senators in 12 states. The group has already spent about 2 million in commercials over the past month raising grim scenarios about the impact of the health-care reform legislation developing in Congress. Atlantic contributor Matthew Cooper writes that even with the support of newly sworn-in Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn. , the Employee Free Choice Act, a bill that has been heavily lobbied by unions, remains stuck in the Senate. Says Affordable housing vacancy rate The problem thats plagued the bill for months still remains: 60 Democrats dont support it and the Republicans are determined to filibuster the measure. Thats probably music to the ears of the business community, which has united to oppose the legislation. The conservative group, Americans for Prosperity plans to spend 600, 000, through its Patients First campaign, on television ads, urging citizens to call their lawmakers and tell them to keep your hands off our Affordable housing vacancy rate care, spokeswoman Amy Menefee said.

Afb job mcguire vacancy

One is Freedom Works, which generated over 40, 000 e-mails to Congress during a July 4 call to action to defeat the climate change bill, according to the conservative groups press secretary Adam Brandon. It was a tremendous spike in activity, he said. The Campaign for Working Families and the John Birch Society, both conservative groups, also staged e-mail campaigns to defeat the climate change bill, but would not release participation numbers, saying only that they have fielded increased online support thanks to dissatisfaction with the legislation. The Afb job mcguire vacancy of emails during the July 4 recess led some members of Congress to perceive salient opposition to the bill, according to Doug Thornell, an aide to Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md. , who voted in favor of the bill. But those on the left question whether there really is growing opposition. Thornell said some theorize that the e-mails really reflect a small contingent of opposition brought together by Fox News, the right wing blogs, and conservative talk radio. But that might not matter. The most significant impact of the e-mail campaigns may not be changing minds on Capitol Hill for these conservative groups but, rather the opportunity to gather e-mail addresses from voters in the heartland. Freedom Works has collected over 17, 000 new supporter e-mail addresses since February from people interested in energy and cap-and-trade, according to Brandon. Collecting a large database of supporter e-mail addresses is an essential step in online organizing. Mass emails are about the least effective way to advocate. But when you use it to get someone to make a phone call, that, all of a sudden, is a very big deal, said Colin Delany, the founder of, a site about online organizing. For Freedom Works, each new e-mail address represents an opportunity to rear a new small government advocate. The real value added is when you keep moving these people up the food chain on any issue, Brandon said. Conservative groups have generally lagged behind progressive groups in web organizing success, but Brandon believes online efforts Afb job mcguire vacancy surge thanks to the newfound wealth of galvanizing issues the Obama administration and the Democrat Congress have proposed, like climate change legislation. Its clear now when one policy is for expanding the role of government, and one is not, Brandon said. Its so easy to get people motivated. Members of Natural Resources Defense Council condemned the conservative groups strategy of using climate change to build membership. Pete Altman, an NRDC climate change director, characterized the Freedom Works strategy as latching onto climate change to further the broader agenda of Afb job mcguire vacancy progress. He added that: Clean energy and climate are basically being used to try to propel these conservative groups forward. Thornell echoed the sentiment. The right wing is looking for any opportunity to mobilize their supporters, and theyre trying to find a good Afb job mcguire vacancy boogeyman, he said. Move over, Newt Gingrich. This years prize for the Afb job mcguire vacancy political comeback could go to a pair of small-screen actors, Harry and Louise. When the duo agreed to appear this month in ads funded by Families USA and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America touting health care reform-after starring in ads against it in 1993-the new campaign seemed like a savvy marketing coup and an interesting cultural twist. But now Harry Johnson and Louise Caire Clark – the actors playing the middle-aged Afb job mcguire vacancy broadening their role. Theyre stepping out beyond the script and touting their status as cultural icons in the health care debate, as their shared Twitter bio describes them. Speaking off-screen and on their own dollar-and not as spokespeople for PhRMA or Families USA-Clark and Johnson have either developed a passion for advocacy or are just relishing the extension of their 15 minutes. The actors, who are not married in real life, maintain joint Facebook and Twitter pages unaffiliated with their ad sponsors. Afb job mcguire vacancy write Afb job mcguire vacancy two things: healthcare reform and their own publicity. So far, they have 31 Twitter followers. Louise is married to Ben Goddard, the producer of the 1993 Harry and Louise ads Typical tweets mention their press: Louise, heres our National Journal Article /cESxt. Or, The Washington Examiner calls us iconic! /kwts4o. In an update of our post from this morning, CongressDailyPM reported: Harry and Afb job mcguire vacancy are back, but this time theyre supporting health reform. The duo, famous for ads opposing then President Bill Clintons health reform plan in 1994, will star in a new multimillion-dollar ad backed by Families USA and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America that begins running this weekend.

As for in-person requests would it be more tactful in your opinion to CALL program coordinators and request an appointment or just, you know drop by. ? no problem guys, im glad to hear that my experience is somewhat useful for others who are on the same boat. Cold calling/emailing works best during high yield seasons Nov Dec, Feb March, but its all a numbers game. As you can see here on other SDN threads there are some people across the country withdrawing or deferring their internship contracts, which means that there are some openings here and there. Unfortunately by this time in the season I would suppose that 97% of the spots are there still is that 3%, sort of speak. either talk to someone who has a find-a-resident or residentswap acct or pay and open one, and definitely call all of those programs that are opened. if you cant do the above, go to the find-a-resident site and count the number and geographic locations of where the supposed vacancies are at. then by process of elimination 2008 norwalk office vacancy rates those states in that geographic location it takes like 5 10 min do do this, but it can save you some. for example, 2008 norwalk office vacancy rates are like 4-5 states in the mid-atlantic region, and if it says 5 openings in a specialty exist, 2008 norwalk office vacancy rates go to and get the phone emals of all of those programs in those states.
